1. About Us
These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of Upwordo websites and mobile applications that provide language learning through short stories and related features.

2. Eligibility and Accounts
- You must be able to form a binding contract under applicable law.
- You can use a free version without an account. Certain features require registration and a paid subscription.
- You are responsible for your account credentials and for all activity under your account. Do not share your login.
3. Subscriptions, Trials, Renewal, Cancellation
- We offer subscription plans, including monthly and annual options. Plan names and features may change.
- Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless you cancel before renewal.
- You can cancel at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period and you will retain access until then.
- If you purchased through Apple App Store or Google Play, billing, cancellation, and refunds are handled by those platforms subject to their terms.
- We may change pricing or features. Price changes apply at your next renewal. We will give reasonable prior notice where required.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Copy, reproduce, publicly perform, or distribute stories, content, or any part of the Services, except as expressly permitted in Section 8.
- Sell, resell, rent, or sublicense the Services.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to derive source code, except where such restriction is prohibited by law.
- Circumvent technical protection measures or access non public areas.
- Upload malware or interfere with or disrupt the Services.
- Use the Services for unlawful, harmful, or deceptive purposes.
We may suspend or terminate accounts for breaches.
5. Age and Child Safety
- The Services contain uplifting, safe for work stories but are not specifically designed for children under 13.
- If you are under the age where parental consent is required under local law, you must have a parent or guardian’s consent to use paid features or create an account.
- Parents and guardians are responsible for supervising minor users.
6. Third Party Services
The Services integrate third party tools such as payment providers, analytics, and communications platforms. Those services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies.
7. User Content
- You may post or share limited content such as screenshots or short excerpts for learning or commentary purposes.
- You grant Upwordo a worldwide, non exclusive, royalty free license to use, host, reproduce, and display your submitted content for operating and improving the Services.
- Do not upload content that is illegal, infringing, or violates others’ rights.
8. Intellectual Property and Limited License
- All stories, text, graphics, user interface, trademarks, and other content are owned by Upwordo or its licensors and are protected by law.
- We grant you a personal, non exclusive, non transferable, revocable license to use the Services for your own learning purposes, subject to these Terms.
- Educational sharing is limited. You may share small excerpts or screenshots and retell story ideas for learning purposes. You may not repost or republish full stories or substantial portions. Any broader use requires prior written permission.
9. Feedback
If you give feedback or suggestions, you grant Upwordo a free, worldwide, irrevocable license to use them without restriction.
10. Availability and Modifications
- We strive to keep the Services available and evolving. Features may change or be discontinued.
- We may update these Terms. Material changes will be notified by reasonable means. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
11. Disclaimers
- The Services are provided on an as is and as available basis.
- We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error free operation, accuracy of translations, or that the Services will meet your needs.
- To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non infringement.
12. Limitation of Liability
- To the maximum extent permitted by law, Upwordo is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill.
- Our total liability for any claim related to the Services is limited to the amounts you paid to us during the 12 months before the event giving rise to liability.
- Nothing in these Terms limits liability for intent, gross negligence, death, or personal injury where liability cannot be limited under applicable law.
13. Indemnity
You will indemnify and hold Upwordo harmless from claims arising out of your misuse of the Services or your breach of these Terms.
14. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by Swiss law, without regard to conflict of laws rules. The exclusive place of jurisdiction is Zurich, Switzerland, subject to any mandatory consumer venue rights that cannot be waived.

16. Termination
You may stop using the Services at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms or for security, legal, or technical reasons. Sections that by their nature should survive termination will survive.
17. Miscellaneous
If a provision is found unenforceable, the remainder remains in effect. No waiver is effective unless in writing. You cannot assign your rights without our consent. We may assign to an affiliate or in connection with a merger or sale.
